Saint Louis County & Northeastern Koochiching County Comprehensive Trails Plan
ARDC is currently working with Iron Range Tourism to develop a comprehensive trails plan for Saint Louis County and Northeastern Koochiching County.
A comprehensive trails plan document sets a vision for all trails in a designated area and identifies goals and strategies for future development of the area’s trail systems. The planning process and its final document will offer a strategic map for proactive planning and a tool for leveraging public funds and grant opportunities that can aid trail development efforts.

ARDC will be hosting webinars for the geographic areas being addressed by the St. Louis and Northeast Koochiching County Trails Plan. At each webinar, ARDC will describe what is known about the trails in that area, any upcoming trail expansion/improvements in that area, and review the Trails Inventory Map. Attendees will be asked to add their input into the process by describing additional improvement ideas, refining information about existing facilities, and commenting on other factors, such as trail safety, maintenance, and funding. The input will be used to further develop the recommended trail improvement actions for the Plan.
